Blue Line Fishing Charters
About
At Blue Line Fishing Charters, we are focused on providing a professional fishing guide with the highest levels of customer satisfaction and fishing talent. We will do everything we can to put you on top of the fish, where trophy sized catches are a hook set away. We fish the Canadian waters of southern Lake Huron from Kettle Point to Port Franks to Grand Bend to Bayfield. We travel as far as the Canada-USA border. Whether you’re a seasoned angler or a first-time fisherman, Captain Fred is here to ensure you have a fantastic and memorable time on the water.
Capt. Fred has demonstrated his skills in competitive fishing, winning the 2018 BWA Sarnia Salmon Derby and placing second in 2019.
Our expertise has been showcased in Outdoor Canada and on the Canadian Fishing Network (see attached video). Capt. Fred has also contributed insightful articles on trolling techniques to the April/May 2025 edition of Great Lakes Angler magazine as well as the 2025 Bluewater Anglers Salmon Derby tabloid. It's titled "Hooked from the Start: Beginner's Guide to Great Lakes Trolling Techniques” on page 6 - https://online.flippingbook.com/view/21129667/
Sightseeing trips, burials at sea, and gift certificates are also available.
For those new to trolling or looking to sharpen their skills, we offer Master Class Trolling Clinics—an invaluable opportunity to enhance your techniques and boost your catches. Best of all, this comprehensive clinic is included free with your charter! Capt Fred will teach you a system for locating and catching fish on YOUR boat.

Meet Captain Fred Wondergem
Fishing isn't just a pastime for me—it's my passion. With over 35 years of experience fishing in southern Lake Huron, I'm fully dedicated to this profession.
-
I hold full certification from Transport Canada, including Med A3 (Small Non-Pleasure Vessel Basic Safety) and SVOP (Small Commercial Vessel Operator Training Course).
-
I fish full-time, seven days a week. When the fish head offshore, so do we!
-
I have a deep understanding of fish behavior and environmental changes, allowing me to adapt to varying weather conditions.
-
My charter's core values are hard work, humor, and a relentless attitude.
-
I also maintain a strong network with other captains in the region to stay updated on the largest schools of fish.
